Wedding Cake Tasting / Consultation Information Page
If you have
a question about any of our cakes or if you
Below is a explanation of what to expect at your cake tasting/consultation at Sweet Promises.
Setting up the Consultation: The first step is to contact us by email email@example.com or phone at 828-670-1549 to make sure that we have your wedding date available. If the date is available we will determine a date and time for your tasting and directions to Sweet Promises will be provided. We try to schedule our cake tastings during the week. If an evening appointment is best for you, we can arrange to meet in the evening on certain days. On the weekends, we usually have to schedule cake tastings around our cake deliveries, so we may have to meet early in the day Saturday or later in the evening. At times, we can arrange to meet with you on a Sunday afternoon after church.
Choosing your design: We have an extensive photo gallery of all of our cakes. If you don't have a certain design in mind, you'll find many beautiful cake ideas by browsing through our gallery. If you have a design in mind, feel free to bring your pictures and ideas to the consultation. Just remember that the creation of a wedding cake is art and any attempt to replicate something from a picture may be subject to slight variations as each decoator has their own techniques and decorating tools.
After determining the design of your cake and the cake flavors that you would like, a written quote will be given to you. If you choose to have us bake your wedding cake and you want to book the date at the time of the cake tasting/consultation, a 25% deposit is collected to hold the date, with the balance due approximately two weeks before the wedding date. We regret that we cannot hold a date without a deposit.
Choosing Your Cake Flavors: At times, if we are given enough notice, we can accommodate certain flavor requests at a tasting. However, because we do not charge for cake tastings, we normally offer the most popular flavors at the cake tastings. The flavors below are usually offered at each cake tasting. At times, we may have additional flavors to offer.
Premium Wedding Cake Flavors:
Picking Up Your Cake: We do not offer delivery on smaller wedding cakes. We will place the cake in a box, so you will need a flat surface in the back of a mini van or SUV for transporting the cake. The cake will need to be kept cool and away from direct sunlight. When choosing to pick up your cake, Sweet Promises cannot be responsible to damages to your cake once it leaves our property.
Fresh Flowers: Fresh flowers are beautiful on a Wedding Cake and smell great too! However, if they have been sprayed with insecticides, they can be harmful. Please be sure and talk this over with your florist before ordering flowers for your cake. It will be your responsiblity along with your florist to be sure that the flowers and foliage are safe to place on your cake. In Additon, Sweet Promises cannot be liable for damage caused to your cake by flowers placed by someone other than Sweet Promises Bakery.
Cake Servings: Most Wedding Cakes are two layers of cake with Buttercream or fruit filling in the middle. The standard tier height is appoximately 4". It is recommended that you have two people to serve your Wedding Cake. You will need to make arrangments for your cake knife, servers and plastic gloves. We will provide a box for your top cake.
the time the wedding cake is ordered a 25% non
refundable deposit is collected to hold the date for your cake..
The final payment for the wedding cake is due at least 14 days before
the wedding date.
Cancellation Policy: A 25% deposit is taken to hold the date. The 25% is non-refundable. The final payment is due 14 days before the wedding date. If the order is cancelled less than 60 days before the wedding, then the 25% deposit would be lost in addition to any other payments received. Unfortunately, there would not be a refund because by this time we most likely have turned down orders for other cakes for your date.
Allergens: Sweet Promises Bakery is licensed by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture. We often process know allergens including peanuts and tree nuts, wheat, soy, eggs and milk. Sweet Promises cannot be held liable for allergic reactions to these types of foods.
